Instructor — Project Management Essentials

Overview

Delivers Project Management Essentials, BSF Systems' PMI-aligned course covering the full project lifecycle and PMI's 12 Project Management Principles, preparing learners for real-world PM roles and for the CAPM® or PMP® certification exams.

Responsibilities

• Teach the full project lifecycle — initiation, planning, execution/monitoring/control, and close-out — using PMI-aligned tools and terminology.
• Instruct learners in Agile practices, WBS development, risk planning, stakeholder mapping, Critical Path Method, and Earned Value Management.
• Explicitly map course content to the CAPM® and PMP® exam content outlines so learners are certification-ready, not just conceptually familiar.
• Run applied exercises — a real project plan and schedule — that mirror what a working Project Coordinator or Project Manager actually produces.
• Track and report learner readiness for certification and for PM/PMO roles.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep, current command of PMI's PMBOK® Guide (7th Edition) and the 12 Project Management Principles.
• Fluency in both traditional/waterfall and Agile delivery approaches.
• Hands-on experience with standard PM tooling (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and Agile tooling (Jira or equivalent).
• Strong ability to teach exam-oriented material without reducing it to rote memorization — learners should be able to apply it on the job.

Education & Experience

• Active PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification required — CAPM® alone is not sufficient, since the course also preps learners for the PMP® exam.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (required); PMI-ATP (Authorized Training Partner) instructor experience is a strong asset.
• 8+ years of professional project management experience across the full project lifecycle.
• Prior experience teaching PM certification prep (CAPM®/PMP®) strongly preferred.

Compensation

Premium per-cohort contract rate reflecting PMP®-level credentialing; BSF Systems' standard instructor agreement applies.
