Overview
Delivers BSF Systems' Full-Stack Development course, teaching the modern JavaScript/TypeScript stack — React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, Prisma, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL/MySQL — end to end, from fundamentals through a deployable full-stack application.
Responsibilities
- Teach the full stack: HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals through React, Next.js, Node.js/Express, and the database layer (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Prisma).
- Guide learners through the full software development lifecycle: version control (Git/GitHub), Agile practices, and the project-management basics that apply to a real build.
- Live-code and review learner projects, giving specific, actionable code feedback rather than conceptual feedback alone.
- Own a capstone project spec that results in a genuinely deployable, portfolio-ready application.
- Keep the curriculum current as the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem evolves — framework versions, tooling, and best practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Production-level fluency across the full stack taught: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js/Express, Tailwind CSS, at least two of MongoDB/PostgreSQL/MySQL, and Prisma.
- Strong live-coding and code-review teaching ability — comfortable debugging learner code in real time.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery and Git-based collaborative workflows.
- Genuine enthusiasm for early-career developers and patience with learners encountering these concepts for the first time.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience — a strong non-degree portfolio is acceptable given the field.
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience, including production ownership of at least one live application on this or a closely comparable stack.
- A public portfolio or GitHub history demonstrating the taught stack is required.
- Prior teaching, bootcamp instruction, or technical mentoring experience strongly preferred.
Compensation
Per-cohort contract rate, commensurate with experience; BSF Systems' standard instructor agreement applies.
