Overview

Delivers the Entrepreneurship Masterclass — business planning, pitching, customer acquisition, and early-stage financial management — for aspiring founders, drawing on real startup-building experience rather than theory alone.

Responsibilities

  • Teach business planning, investor and customer pitching, customer acquisition, and early-stage financial management.
  • Run live pitch-practice and feedback sessions modelled on real investor and customer conversations.
  • Share direct, first-hand founder experience — successes and failures — to ground lessons in reality rather than textbook theory.
  • Coach learners through building a real, presentable business plan or pitch deck as a capstone deliverable.
  • Keep material current with today's fundraising, go-to-market, and bootstrapping practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience founding, co-founding, or serving in an early-stage leadership role (e.g., among the first 10 hires) at a startup.
  • Strong pitching, storytelling, and investor- or customer-facing communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of lean startup and customer development methodology.
  • Comfort coaching learners one-on-one on real, in-progress business ideas.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field (required); MBA an asset.
  • Direct experience founding or leading an early-stage company, bootstrapped or venture-backed, is required — this is a hands-on-builder role, not a theoretical one.
  • 5+ years of combined founder/operator and/or startup-advisory experience.
  • Affiliation with a recognized accelerator, incubator, or mentor network (e.g., Techstars, Y Combinator Startup School, a university accelerator) is a strong asset.

Compensation

Per-cohort contract rate, commensurate with experience; BSF Systems' standard instructor agreement applies.
